Gentle Commercial Metal Roof Oxidation Removal In Northport, AL
Local full service civil construction company, Ryan Shirley, Inc. of Northport, AL, contacted us about removing the oxidation that had accumulated over time on the green metal roof of their office building. After taking a look at the job at hand, we advised them that the oxidation could be removed using a brushless technique utilizing a mild acid that breaks up the oxidation that has been caused by the sun's UV rays chemical reaction to the painted metal surface. We also advised them that due to how long the oxidation has been present, that some paint removal could be a possibility if the oxidation had penetrated the paint, but the only way to know would be to start the project and assess oxidation during the oxidation removal process. The owner, Ryan Shirley, stated that he was planning on repainting the roof, but wanted the oxidation removed prior to the new paint being applied. He approved the estimate we gave and the oxidation removal was scheduled.
During the oxidation removal, it was confirmed that the oxidation had in fact penetrated the green paint. Minimal paint removal occurred, while all of the oxidation was successfully removed. The customer was happy with the results of the oxidation removal we provided.
