For this brick cleaning in Helena, AL, we chose to utilize our soft wash system for the killing and removal of the organic growth. This choice was made due to quite a few cracks we noticed in the mortar of the brick wall. In situations like this when cracks are visible, soft washing is the better choice. We were able to apply the algaecide to the algae and moss growth using a strength that would kill not only the top layer, but also penetrating deep within the growth killing the roots. This is very important in that without killing the roots, the organic growth will come back much quicker. By killing the root system, the organic growth essentially has to re-establish as algae and restart the growth cycle after the present growth has been removed. We also chose to do the same for the brick pavers due to noticeable cracks in the pavers.

The driveway was treated with the same algaecide using the soft wash system, but the cleaning of the concrete was done so using high pressure.

Upon completion, we walked the property with the homeowner explaining everything we had done and why we chose to do it that way. In addition to being overly surprised at the difference, the customer thanked us for pointing out the cracks in both the wall and the pavers.
